How does everyone get so much protein in?

I am 8 weeks out and I struggle to get my 60g in some days. Occasionally I get into the 70's but I read on here people who eat 100g+ every day. I am amazed. My pre-op and post-op bloodwork both had me low on protein.  I drink one shake a day with 28-30g. Suggestions appreciated.

Lots of meat. That's how I do it anyway.

At 8 weeks out, you still have a way to go. For the time being, you might add another shake.  Try a piece of rolled up deli meat as a snack. There are lots of other things that have protein in them.

It was hard in the beginning because I could only eat 2 oz at a time. During those times, I would have a shake as a snack to boost my protein. Now, I eat a lot of chicken and fish, and some red meat.  Once or twice a week I still have a shake in there.  It gets easier though as you are able to eat 4 oz at a time.  I usually get 70-80 grams of protein in a day.  I suggest going to http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/ and check out the recipes. This is one of my go to pages.  In fact I had the ricotta bake for dinner tonight.  Good luck to you!

Read the "what are you eating today" post everyday for ideas. Shrimp, chicken breast, fish, chesse and Greek yogurt. My Preimer protein drink is 30 grams of protein my 0% Fage Greek yogurt is 30 grams of protein and for dinner adding salmon or rib eye would give you another 30 grams. Adding chesse ( I like laughing cow) or some almonds will push your protein count up as well.

I'm 5 mo., 2 days out and still can't get in all the protein or fluid. oh, my. I do keep pushing toward those goals but don't allow myself to stress about it.

I'm so glad to hear this.  I am 3 months out from my RNY and still have a lot of difficulty getting in the recommended daily protein and fluids.  I still have a lot of foods that don't digest well and almost all meats are one of them.  I try to eat other protein sources and drink at least 1 30 gram protein drink a day, however.  I like what you said about not stressing over it and admit that I have been stressed about it.  Overall, I feel good and really wonder if it is absolutely necessary for everyone to have the same amounts of protein and fluids, seeing how this is such an individualized surgery.
