Have the flu....any suggestions?
This sucks, I have the flu, not a stomach bug. Fever, chills, cough, body aches and I had my flu shot. I've been trying to concentrate on liquids and not worry about the proteins so much right now. I've also been trying to stay away from tylenol and let my body just burn it off. Any suggestions on what would be good? I am 6 weeks post op and it has nothing to do with the surgery cause my husband just had it too. :(

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll take some tylenol so I can sleep.

yes - lord, don't get dehydrated!!! I would not worry about anything besides Tylenol and water!!
The flu shot is covering about 30% in my area. It is rampant - Flu A.
Feel better!!

You don't say how long you've had symptoms, but if just a day or two, go to your primary care doctor. S/he can prescribe Tamiflu, which can really lessen the duration of the flu. It is a nasty flu year.
It started Friday night and tomorrow, thank goodness, is a holiday. I don't work but I'm a grandparent who takes care of grandchildren, which is where I probably got this bug from. If I'm still icky tomorrow I'll try calling my doc.

Keep working on staying hydrated! And watch the electrolytes..if you aren't eating your body will be flushing out more water and you need to make sure you keep you sodium, potassium and magnesium up. Hit up the good ol chicken broth or drink some electrolyte-enhanced water, too.
And definitely call the doctor if you aren't seeing an improvement!
