Never hurts to ask

Hello everyone,    I was browsing the GNC.com website last night, they have the RTD Lean Shakes on sale.       Buy 1 get 2nd 1/2 price.    Good Deal , I like their shakes very much...

They have 4 flavors   ( vanilla , banana, strawberry and a chocolate....plus a limited edition of mint chocolate.      So 5 in all......However to my dismay the sale was for only 2 of the flavors?     

Bummer!!   I find it odd they don`t  have all flavors on sale.... I really wanted the 5 flavors but also wanted the sale price ....So I did the math , had to add an extra to make it 6  4 packs , and the total as advertised for those 6 came to $54.94 plus $3.99 shipping.....Total Amount $58.93

Now if all the flavors were on sale as the Buy 1 get 2nd 1/2 price , I would have paid 10.99 for 3 and 5.49 for 2 on the sale price.....so I added 1 more 4 pack, so I could use the 3rd $10.99 and get the 1/2 off the 6th ...........I am long winded, probably could and should have simplified this post.. :)

Ok, so here it what happened.....Buying the 6 with only the 2 flavors on sale with shipping was 58.93

If all flavors were on sale for 6 of the 4 packs it would be $49.44 plus 3.99 shipping...Total amount $53.43      Difference in price a whopping $ 5.50, doesn`t sound like much but it covered the shipping of 3.99.

Here comes the good part, lol

I emailed GNC and wrote basically exactly what this post says.....I asked if they would consider allowing me to purchase for the lower price of 49.44 , I had not put the shipping price in yet, WELL the lower price I accidently typed in as $44.94  instead of the 49.44.........difference of 4.50, yet it was a typo I did not realize right away.

Their response was YES they would allow me to purchase 6 for the price of $44.94 !!

I was honest, ( I also figured they would see my math was off) but since I am honest I replied back with the Math mix up and they STILL said I could have them for 44.94 .....!!!!!     YEAH!!       Total amount if I had not asked with shipping would have been  $58.93.....My price with shipping $48.93

Difference of 10.00 off, even though it was this amount because of a typo.

Point being I asked and I knew in my head I would be saving  $5.50  if they agreed which would cover the shipping....So always ask , and they honored my typo???        Cool, huh?

Sorry for rambling on and on........So it never hurts to ask :)          or hurt to make a typo , lol
