Preventing Hair Loss

btw - not everyone loses hair.  I didn't.  And it sounds like a lot of people lose enough that they notice, but no one else does.  And like the other posters said, if you're one of the unfortunate ones who loses tons and tons of hair, you'll just have to let it run its course.  It'll grow back...

I was fortunate and have not lost a noticeable amount of hair.  I don't know if this helped prevent hair loss, but I figured it couldn't hurt....I used Nioxin shampoo (it is a 3 part system) and took Hair, Skin, and Nails.  I am 8-1/2 months out, so I am hoping I made it through the danger period. I think eating sufficient protein and taking your vitamins is also key.  Hope you have good results.

I didn't lose much hair. I am lucky. I think I shed more like a dog would. Luckily I have a ton of hair. Not everyone loses their hair. I would say I would be thinner and have a smaller and healthier body. You can always buy a hair piece.

I have Hair, Skin ,and Nail vitamins I plan to take daily, I also ordered WEN haircare, I will see how I do. Just had RNY surgery Monday, I personally do not believe anesthesia will cause the hair loss (I've had over 10 surgeries in my life never had hair loss, I Do believe the hair loss after WLS is from malnutrition , we have enough FAT reserves for the first 4 months, when you go from eating a lot to a tablespoon that's the issue, my feelings anyway, we would all be bald in America if it was anesthesia and you are only under about an hour, not like the 12 hour surgeries I've had on my back, its malnutrition. I plan to keep my blood levels checked with my primary care often this first year I may need some B12 shots and Iron shots for myself.  (This is just my Plan and Opinions not trying to step on anyone's Thoughts)

I have had quite a few surgeries myself and didn't notice any hair loss, so maybe I will muddle through this surgery without losing too much as well.  I plan to make sure I keep my nutrition levels up also.  I know this doesn't seem like a big deal to people who have a lot of hair, but when you don't have much to begin with it's kind of scary!

Being you are concerned about hair loss, before you use the WEN, read this...

WEN class action lawsuit

My daughter is a hairstylist and has personally seen the effects of WEN on a couple of her clients that were using it.

I did not loose any hair. Hopefully you won't as well. I have a friend who had the surgery and she lost some and got a really cute hair cut. Good luck.
