Nutritionist has me scared!

So far on this journey, I have averaged a weight loss of about 10 lbs a month. This past month I have only lost 4 lbs. I had an appointment with the nutritionist last week and she was very happy with my progress but spent nearly the entire time telling me about how this is the time the weight loss slows down or stops completely. But I'm NOT DONE YET!! I want to lose more. I have continued to stay on track except for one bad habit I began. I have been taking a few sips of pepsi in the evening. I tried stopping that completely as well because she told me that the carbonation will expand my pouch. I sure wish they would have told me that sooner because earlier I was drinking these ICE drinks that are carbonated water with no sugar in order to satisfy that soda craving I was having. Now I'm convinced I ruined my progress and will never lose the last 30 lbs. I'm between 159/160 for the last 3-4 weeks! I increased my protein and supplement with shakes and eat less and still nothing...Did anyone else stay on plan and stop losing at 8 months? Or is this a "famous 8 month stall"? My food intake consists of meat, cheese, and very little salad (after eating meat first), and premiere shakes. I track in MFP, carbs are less than 30, protein is 90-100, calories max at 800 or less. I just don't want to be done with the "honeymoon" stage already... :-(

Pepsi is wasted calories. But the carbonation will NOT stretch anything. It just won't. Not possible. I drink a lot of diet soda, and it has caused me zero issues.

If you are weighing your food, logging closely, and can swear that you are under 800 calories, you will keep losing. It's just not a straight line.

The only thing I did not account for were my sips of pepsi. I would buy one 16oz bottle on Monday and throw a 1/4 full bottle away on Friday because it was flat by that point. I'm a****er now. I can't risk anything. Grim, did you continue to lose well after 8 months?

I was done losing at just under a year.

Remember, things slow down as your weight goes down. If you lose 20 pounds in the first month or two, there is no way you can continue that. It all depends on what you weigh, too. Losses gradually diminish as time goes on. That's why everyone says those last pounds are the hardest.

After 8 months to a year, our bodies have less fat to lose, and it gets harder. At the exact same time, our brains have had enough of weight loss. We want our old friends, like Pepsi, and they sneak back in. One sip at a time. Then a can, and a bottle. These are the reasons weight loss slows.

Dig back in. This was a wakeup call. It gets harder, but it's worth it.

If you must have Pepsi- drink diet...not sure if you forgot to put that... as Grim said it won't stretch anything..more like just bad habits...need healthy foods.

Weight loss does change along the way, stalls happen...doesn't mean you can't do it....you could be back to 10lbs next month.... .....Honestly I know they sponsor a lot here, and I love the taste, but I don't think Premier are the best shakes, they aren't 100% whey protein isolate.... just my 2 cents.... I would only count it as 15-20g of protein....

Nope, no Diet LOL I'm terrible... I must NOT have pepsi, I just needed a kick in the butt. What protein shakes do you like? I probably have a 2 month supply left but would love to try a variety of others before making another big stock purchase.

Lately I have been liking the Syntrax that are 100% whey protein...I don't think they all are. I love the fuzzy navel orange flavor. First one I've found that tastes good mixed in water. Also love it mixed with plain kefir from Trader joes, vanilla extract extra sweetener and ice- tastes like an Orange Julius... Like their chocolate truffle, cappuccino, and vanilla bean torte....can buy on Amazon but Netrition is more reasonable if you are buying more than one... And I know you can buy sample packs somewhere on the net, because I've done it before. Inspire brand from Bariatriceating.com is very tasty as well, and also 100% whey protein. I didn't like their fruit melon flavor though. Somehow I think the ones you mix yourself in a blender or blender bottle are better for you...

Yup.  Syntrax fuzzy navel, cappucchino latte.  Amazon sells the variety pack.  Love that stuff.

Thanks so much! I'm building up a cart on Netrition already and I'll add to it. I don't have many options near me.

I liked the Syntrax Roadside Lemonade and Fruit Punch. Again, the only flavors I tried that were meant to mix with water. You can save some calories that way, for sure.
