Pork Rinds - Yes or No????

So, I have a bag of Pork Rinds that were left at my house from the Super Bowl.  A friend brought them thinking I could eat them, but I was only 4 weeks out from surgery and did not want them.  Lately, I have been craving something crunchy and salty.  Can I have these occasionally if I have the calories to spare?

yes but can't really count them as protein, as the source is collagen.

O yea.. but- they are rather dense... even now - almost 9 years post op - I can't eat a lot of them.

A good option for salty crunch, but like other's have posted you can't really count the protein in your daily.  Definitely a substitute for chips, in moderation.

Portion control on them for sure... cals can add up if you just reach in the bag. If you have a Trader Joe's a new crunchy salty fix are these oven baked cheese bites: http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2017/01/post- weight-loss-surgery-menus-day-in_14.html

An easy-to-overdo snack idea:  either bake, broil or microwave a hunk of cheese until it looks darker in color; it will cool crunchy if you can wait long enough.  (Warning:  cheese can be very constipating and wished I had restricted it from my diet sooner)

^oops, just saw Eggface's post above mine^ but worth the duplication for two points:  1. easy-to-overdo  2. constipation

I love them, especially since they are low carb, but do find they swell and thicken in the pouch easily.

I am working to adding them to some dishes to thicken and add flavor, and also saw where they were crushed and used as breading on some chicken breast before cooking. This may be good with the spicy rinds.

Microwave pepperonis spread out on a paper towel for 2 minutes for a crunchy snack. I use them with pimento cheese! YUM!

Crisped up pepperoni are still one of my favorite snacks. I top mine with Muenster or mozzarella, but dang it I do love pimento cheese!
