It's hump day!! I'm going in late today since the boy has an orthodontist appt. I'm literally sick of taking him. It's been an issue with one side of his mouth and he's been in them far longer that initially planned. I'm so ready to say good enough! I'm pretty excited to be up cause I'm gonna sneak in an extra (short) run at 6:30.

qotd: is there anything you found to be 'easy' about maintaining a post WLS diet? Honestly I thought not drinking with meals would be torture-- but I adapted to that without issue. It's just a matter-of-fact for my life these days.

215 today, 3.4 years out

m1: egg, turkey sausage links

m2: Greek yogurt, berries

m3: roast chicken drumsticks (2)

Good Morning Peach and Menuers,

I'm up and ready to start back to work today. Hair looks good, makeup on and a flowy dress for comfort on my belly.

QOTD: Being new to the game the only thing I have found to be easy is no sugar. I am afraid of the consequences if I partake in sugar.

B: overnight oats

S: babybel and 1/2 pear

L: romaine, turkey, feta, and red onion salad

S: PP chocolate shake (if needed)

D: Salisbury steak with onions and a little gravy, roasted broccoli and cauliflower

Have a great day everyone!

You can't measure your achievements with someone else's yardstick!

agree on the not drinking - it isn't an issue. the switch to sugar free is also not an issue for me. the working out is not an issue for me. the food I think will always be a constant struggle.

food for today: same as the last 2 days since that is what I packed

protein pancakes

chicken curry thighs- spinach , cucumbers

coffee

protein powder and coconut milk

not sure on dinner thinking either crack chicken OR turkey burgers- or might ask DH to grab something for him and I will fend for myself.

having some wor-klife balance issues and haven't been to gym in 2 days. i have however gone outside and walked during luch for 35 minutes though so not a total loss. trying to not let this impact my food choices as being 'tired' and worn down causes me to make poor choices.

I certainly understand about adding a long commute to a long day in the office and then being too tired to cook good food. Sometimes I manage to do food prep on the weekends but I also keep easy options for the microwave in the freezer. I also try to keep deli meat in the fridge and HB eggs so I can grab some protein to snack on while I unwind.

Good for you for getting out and walking; do what you can when you can! (Deleted the last post because somehow it inserted a giant picture of me; very creepy!)

QOTD: Abstaining from certain bad foods. I used to be a cereal junkie. Let me tell you there's been a bag of Cinnamon Toast Crunch in my kitchen for the longest time. That would be gone in a matter of days previously. I'd eat it every night. Big bowl. An extra 500 alories easy. And I did eat some high protein Special K with fairlife milk early post surgery. Didn't really sit well. Cereal is just not on my radar.

Also junk sweets. Things like Yodels. Now I see that stuff and it's not even a consideration.

And I do eat some carbs. Even the occasional desert type food. But the mindset is completely different. I eat like a guy on the onset of middle age that had weight loss surgery last year. As opposed to a child whose mommy forgot to put the cookie jar back on the top shelf.

Quick drop in this morning. This week my mornings have started off with a bang and continued at a full run until time to go home. By the end of the day, I was exhausted but hadn't gotten in good exercise, enough steps or eaten enough protein. Today since it is sunny and less humid, I want to carve out my lunch hour and take a long walk. I also have a cyber session with my trainer after work, which will be good.

Menu:

B1: Isopure C&C protein shake w/ iced coffee

B2: scrambled eggs

S: chomps

L: chicken breast, salad

S: Buddig's turkey packet, apple

D: I'd really like shrimp

Exercise: 3-4 mile walk at lunch, session with trainer
