Goal Reached

I was reading posts and just looking for as much information as possible-the one thing that stood out was it looks like almost everyone posting has already reached "goal weight".

Any newbies out here? Anyone have a date coming up? I have a zillion questions as my date is coming up.

I see the posts on "whats on your menu" everyday. And I read what everyone is eating and I guess it seems like a lot of food...How much food should you eat for one meal? 1/4 cup, 1/2 cup?

This is really where it does depend how far post surgery you are.

Your surgeon will give you guidelines as to his/her program. You will for sure find the amount changes when your diet progresses too. It's easy to eat 1/4 cup of yoghurt, but baked or roasted chicken breast - yikes, that'll be months until that's a possibility.

When you get your surgeon's package, come here at tell us what it recommends - some of them give TERRIBLE dietary advice, so we can help you amend it slightly to get you on the best track from the start.

We do ask everyone to put their surgery date and type on their profile so you can see at what stage people are when they post or reply to you

I still have a ways to go until I reach my goal weight. Some days I wonder if I'll ever reach it, but it does give me hope that so many on here have reached their goal!

I guess my biggest question is since I am will be a revision from sleeve to RNY-will my experience be the same as someone that is only RNY?

As a revision your loss may be slower, which is why it is imperitive that you have your head on straight this time. You need to maximize your time or the surgery will all be for naught.

Thank you. Thank for the warning. I have been working hard on my "head" issues. I am ashamed that I blew it with the VSG because I was off to a great start. I was only 10 lbs shy of goal....I blamed everyone but me. I will continue to work on me and know I will only get what I give.
