Is it normal for my period to have come a month early??  I am usually so regular.  I take Seasonique birth control so I have a period once every 3rd month.  But I started mine today which is a month early.  Any advice?

Yeah, this surgery can throw your hormones all out of whack. Unfortunately for me it has actually put mine back in track. I used to have a period ever other month or two now it comes every month like clock work and it is vicious! SUCKS!

Call your OBGYN just to make sure.  I hear surgery throws us off.

My periods have been extra super wonkified since surgery. But I attribute it to the surgery, PCOS, possible perimenopause and having stopped taking the Pill after 15 years. I see my Ob/Gyn next month and we'll talk then about the issues and see what's what. I had two in January, none in February and a very light one this month. *shrug* I expect everything will come out in the wash, as it were.

Contact your doc to be sure, but I expect it's one of those fun side-effects of surgery that most surgeons "forget" to tell us about.

My period is so out of whack, mine lasts longer it can last up to 10 days! I used to be 3 days.. but I have the mirena so I spot so I have learned to deal with it, they said after a few months your body shoul regulate itself back out..

Apparently it's very normal for your cycle to be out of whack.  I got my period exactly 10 days prior to surgery, and then got it again 4 days post-surgery (yes...was feeling very ripped off!).  Cycle was off for the next few months, but I'm now 5 months out and have pretty much returned to normal.

I started mine day after surgery-- two weeks early! Was an unexpected, and unpleasant surprise that I wasn't prepared for. Really heavy, too.
