Post-Surgery Scars - -Recommended Care????

Hello All,

Can anyone provide some info, tips, or advice on how to care for the scars after surgery?  I am an Black Female and would like to know what is the best treatment for scars post surgery.

i actually hadn't thought about the scars myself.  perhaps mederma or the ambi fade creams?  i may check into that though, in case i want to show off my new abs next summer!!!!

I am using Bio-Oil!  Of course you should only use it on the scars not while they are still open or scabbed over.  Just once the scabs fall off!  I still have one I am not able to use it on but hopefully in the next week I will be able to!

Also you can use any lotion with Vitamin E in it to help with minimizing scars!  I am using Gold Bond Ultimate Healing Lotion ( http://www.goldbondultimate.com/healing-lotion.html ) all over including the incisions to help with elasticity which will hopefully help the skin stay supple and help me not have so much excess skin!  Put it on while the skin is still wet from a shower! LOVE IT!

I am using the Tone Oatmeal & Shea Butter body wash which also has Vitamin E in it!  Skin is SO soft!
