You can buy Greek yougurt at any regular grocery store. Walmart carries 5 or 6 different brands too. Greek yogurt has more protein than regular yogurt does! I don't really like the flavor of greek yogurt so I have Dannon Light and Fit and add unflavored protein powder to it. I hope this helps.

More protein, way less carbs.

Better consistency for cooking in my opinion.

I use it as a sour cream substitute in ALL recipes that call for sour cream. Tacos, fajitas, anything that I would put sour cream on, I use greek yogurt. My family and friends have zero complaints with it.

The plain non-fat version is bitter. So flavoring it is a MUST.

You can add a variety of ingredients to it. Ranch/italian dry dressing packets are my favorites, any dips that I make for get togethers/barbques are made with greek yogurt and not one person has ever wondered what I used instead of sour cream.

For sweetness, you can sugar free Torani or Davinci syrups, sugar free pudding instant powder, the white chocolate sf pudding powder makes it taste similar to cheesecake.

I don't and never did eat the ones with fruit because of the high sugar/carb content.

I make all of my chicken/tuna/egg salads with Greek yogurt instead of mayo. Mix in some dry ranch dressing, or dijon mustard, and you cut fat and carbs. Which I don't worry about fat content as much as I do carbs, but it's a great alternative.

I actually make my homemade lasagna with ricotta and greek yogurt.

I buy it at WalMart or any other grocer. It's a bit more expensive than sour cream, but so worth it.

Ditto on the more protein... SOOOOOO important to us wls folks. Also, even the0% fat stuff is still really creamy. I like the consistency. I personally don't mind the flavour though I know I'm in the minority on that one, but a shot of vanilla or other sugar free flavourings would work great. Plus great for cooking as previous poster noted.
I mush 1/4 cup up with 1/4 cup SF jello for a yummy (if not very attractive) dessert that has good protein and nothing too bad in it.
I find a lot of stores carry it now Liberte brand is good as is President's Choice but there are many out there.
It's a staple in my diet.
Experiment... enjoy!

I find this at my local Target as Walmart doesnt carry it very often and it is the only brand I like. I also use it as a substitue for Sour Cream but LOVE it for my breakfast. I also only like the plain, which I add flavoring to. Cannot stand the fruit or honey flavored ones. I have a serving every morning. To the plain I add 2 tsp SF Jello Cheesecake Pudding powder, a little skim milk (the jello powder makes it super thick) along with a little SF Torani Pumpkin Pie syrup and a sprinkle (or 2) of Pumpkin Pie Spices. YUMMMMM!! Since I am in maintanence I also add 1/4 cup of whole grain granola for crunch.  There are sooo many flavor options. I also like the SF Jello Banana Cream Pudding powder. I dont add any SF syrups to this so instead of 2 tsp of the jello powder I add 3. I honestly hated the stuff and just recently even tried it again. What a surprise! I actually liked it! LOL!

Americans are use to super sweetened yogurt which is high in carbs and sugar
and really isn't at all what yogurt is suppose to be like.
I don't find Fage as bitter as other plain yogurts.
Perfect for using as dips, toppings, etc. because its SO thick!
Plus zero fat and high protein.

My fav Fage Smoothie....
1/4 water or FF milk
2 - 3 ice cubes
1 scoop of vanilla protein
2/3 c. Fage plain, 0 fat, Greek Yogurt
1/4 cup frozen blueberries or 3 large frozen strawberries.
(or any sugar free flavorings, frozen banana, whatever you like.
Blend in blender.
Thick & Creamy!
If you don't use ice and frozen fruit it will be more liquidy.
