Surgical leave denied by my job?!?!?!?

I'm cool.  My Master's Degree is in Computer Science.  I went that way since people are too damned hard to figure out.

You might want to recheck the FMLA angle. The law is that you only have to have worked for for 1250 hours in the last 12 months. If you have enough hours you should quality. Hope this helps.

Interesting...if I did my math correctly that is 31.25 weeks of 40 hour weeks.  I am currently just shy that amount of time.  However, worse case scenario I could apply for it.  Thank you so much!

I don't know if anyone mentioned HIPPA? But I'm pretty sure you have a legal right to keep your medical information private. You don't have to tell them what your having done, just that you need to have surgery! I'm suprised they even asked specifics, they are not your medical advisors... What gives them the right to make a decision on your health?! Good luck!

Didn't read all the replies but that has GOT to be against the law!
I would go over heads until you get approved...even if you take a leave of absence w/o pay.
