Federal BCBS

Wondering how many of you have Fed BCBS and how long it took to get approved.  My PCP just filed the paperwork with them last week and I am anxious to hear something back...

I had a LONG go around with Fed BCBS. Took two appeals and extra tests for co-morbidities. See my blog.

It took about a week and a half for me to get approval from Fed BCBS after my surgeon's office filed the paperwork with them. Good luck!

I live in NY state and it took 3 days!  My surgeon's office has a wonderful secretary who put a rush on it with BCBS and I got a phone call from BCBS within 3 days approving me.  However, they do have 30 days to decide.  Good luck.

About 5 working days, if I remember right.  Not long....although it seemed like an eternity at the time!

I received my aproval in one week.

I got my approval in under two weeks. You can call them to find out where in the process you are. I had to do that. The representative told me that a letter had been sent out and that she couldn't pull it up but that I "met the criteria". It was about 3 days after that when I received the letter and then about 10 days after that when I had my surgery!
