Off Topic: Can I share my happiness?
This isn't about my sleeve surgery or weight loss (although it might have been influenced by it), but I want to share my good news with my OH friends.
Back in May, right around the time I joined OH and started pursuing my VSG, I was laid off by the bank I worked for since 1984. I was given a generous severance package, so I had some time to regroup, but I am a single parent with a mortgage, so that always weighed on my mind. Anyway, I've been concentrating on my health issues (first WLS & now back surgery), with the intentions of starting a serious job search next month.
Well, yesterday I got a call from the president of another bank, a small local bank, who has worked with me in the past and heard thru the grapevine that I was laid off. He asked if I was looking for work. Long story short, I got a job! I start Monday! And it sounds like a job that I'm going to like much better than the old one; it's more tailored to me, because it's a techy position (internet banking in particular).
Might be considered an NSV. I mean maybe my renewed self-confidence, not to mention my more professional clothing and appearance at a BMI of 31 instead of 42, helped me ace the interview?
