NSV...a day in NYC..
Just wanted to share...I went to NYC yesterday with a friend...
Things I thought about....
how much easier it was to squoosh by people to get to my seat (we saw Radio City Spectacular)
how easy it was to walk for hours many blocks thru the city (no pain in feet, hips, or ankles!)
how cold I was even bundled up in many layers (pre-surgery, I probably would have sweated)
how non-important food was to me...(though NYC is known for great food, it was not a focus)
how I could eat 2 bites of very delicious Red Velvet Cheesecake from Magnolia Bakery & be done
how I would never have wanted to go to the city or felt I'd be up to it several months ago
how normal I feel...
So if you are newly post op and wondering if you will ever be able to go out and eat and feel normal again & feel really good & participate in life....you will...just hang in there....because life does get better and the recovery phase can be hard & all consuming, but the time goes by fast and soon everything feels pretty easy and natural!
