First meal after surgery

I 'm going to have a hard boiled egg, diced up mixed in with a little low fat cheddar and sprinkled with spike seasoning.    YUM!!!

I think it's going to be at least a month before I'm allowed to eat something like that. My surgeon has us do 1 week of clear liquid, 2 weeks of full liquids, 2 weeks of mushies, 1 week (+) of  soft foods and THEN real food.   A hard boiled might qualify for soft food, but I'm not sure.   I'm still on full liquids, so I'm not looking too far ahead.  For now, I am so happy to get to have some tomato soup  with some unjury chicken protein powder mixed in.  Good stuff!

Nutshell:

Lost 140 lbs with VSG. (Hooray!!)

got pregnant  (yeaaaa!)

got cancer (boooo!)

regained 40 lbs.   (grrrr!)

In summary: Alive & Grateful.

I have tried: eggs a few times but cant tolerate the texture I think :( ground turkey with some ricotta cheese and a spoon of spaghetti sauce, ground turkey w taco seasoning and sourcream ff refried beans, steamed shrimp, chili, chicken diced very small with alfredo sauce....I try any meat that is soft/not fried/ and has some kind of sauce on it because I can not tolerate dry meat. AND I stay away from mashed potatoes, applesauce etc because they have no protein! Any bite of food I out into my mouth has protein (meats)

Have you thought of mixing protein powder into the things that don't have protein? I am going to do that with my mashed potatoes. I can't live without them!
