Hello everyone-
I'm new to the board.  My name is Michelle and I am scheduled to have the sleeve done in a few short weeks.
Any advise for before, during or after is greatly appreciated!!!!!!

Welcome and congratulations on your date!

Take to the hospital lip balm and maybe some gas strips.  You will be doing ice chips for a bit and the lip balm will bring relief to the dry lips :)  I wasn't allowed to use gas strips, but others on the board found them helpful.  Just be sure to chec with your doc before you use them (or buy them).

There is a  saying for post op recovery.  Sip, walk, rest, repeat.  Small sips to go easy on your new tummy.  Walking in the hospital as soon as you are able to help alleviate the gas pain.  Lots of rest.

I hope you find the board as valuable as I do :)

Lip Balm is a must. Rest, sip, walk, sip and repeat. Gas can be a beast and like the person before said ask your doctor about gas strips you will need them. Main thing, take time for yourself! Give your body a chance to heal and get used to your new tummy. You will know your limitations of what you can and cannot do. Everyday its gets easier! At first I didnt think so, but it does!
