My NUT recommend Milk of Magnesia for constipation however did not say how much to take. The label says 2 to 4 tablespoons...is that ok with the sleeve or should it be a smaller amount?

You don't say how far out from surgery you are, but if you have to sip it like a protein drink do that.   Maybe start with the 2 ounces and see how that works...

2 is about right.  After you get sick of taking this disgusting concoction, try some tasteless powered Miralax... you'll be glad you did...... at fine stores like Wallyworld or Tageea, over the counter, Walmart has a generic right next to it and its cheaper, same active ingredient....   Good Luck...

Do you take Miralax every day or do you take a dose every couple of days?

Thanks in advance,
Mary

I started with a dose everyday. I have lessened it to a half dose a day now, but can see that I might be soon going to every other day to see if that works. I tried everything and seriously nothing worked - I mean nothing! Miralax was the break through remedy. (I use GeriCare, though,  at about 1/2 the price-same active ingredient, just generic.)

If I eat oatmeal or veggies during the day, I will be ok, if I eat cheese or don't eat one of those first two, I will need help, usually about 1/3 of a dose in the afternoon but before bedtime, is enough to do the deed properly, for me.   Its a little hard to keep  my carbs down when I do oatmeal, so I don't eat it every day, otherwise, I know that it alone could keep me soft.

I'd start with two tablespoons since the instructions say to drink a full glass of water with the dose.  Putting all of that liquid in your sleeve at one time could be a challenge.

I'm going to try the Miralax someone else suggested because I think it's tasteless and I can mix it into fluids I'm going to drink anyway.

Good luck!

In my humble opinion I say one ounce..(that is what we start regular pts I say regualr meaning pts with reg. stomachs..lol ) out with..someone said 2 ounces and I think that is a bit much... I am still having bowel trouble myself and I have tried miralax and mom, and cant deal with the taste, I use the dulcolax pills... I will say they do give me stomach cramps, but I know  the others can also.. but dulcolax are my own personal life savior....there is nothing more miserable than being constipated! Good luck
