This whole process for me start on Feb 15th.   That day I had an appointment with my endocrinologist that manages my diabetes and thyroid disease.  I asked her if it would be crazy if i was to consider WLS.  She said that would be great and directed me to the surgery consultant 2 floors up and I got to walk in and have an appointment that day!   After speaking with her made the appointment with the surgeon and got a book and dvd to watch.  Went home and did lots of praying.  My BMI is 35.  I need loose about 50-60lbs.  Found out my insurance doesn't require any type of 6 month supervised plan and all  I had to do is visit with psych and nutrionist.  I have those appointments this week and then it will be submitted to insurance.  Since I am having hysterectomy this will be much more affordable for me since I will have out of pocket max met.  Target date for surgery is June 25.  Hysto is May 16th.  I have been reading, researching, and following the happenings on this forum.   I am amazed at some of the before and after pics.  I want to buy a pretty belt and a hot pair of jean and TUCK in my shirt.  I have never been able to be a tucker because of this tire i carry around my middle.  Good luck to all you!  I am a bit addicted to reading this forum several times a day.  You keep me modtivated and encouraged.
