Sex drive

This is a bit embarrassing, but I don't know who else to ask. Have any of you other ladies noticed a huge increase in your sex drive after losing weight?

I'm 8 months post-op, have lost 98 lbs (only 10 from my goal) & have a BMI of 25.8. And in the last few months, my sex drive has increased. A lot. As in, I'm climbing the walls! My boyfriend is 11 years older than me (I'm 50, he's 61) and frankly, he just can't keep up.

Is this normal? Will things even out?

It's better to be hated for who you are than loved for who you're not.

I think it's definitely normal. The last time I lost a bunch of weight, I had that happen...and hubby has lost 180 pounds, and I can't keep up with him sometimes lol (and he's only two months older than me!)

Crystal,

I pray to God it happens to me.  My husband is 66  (I am 63) and he has a very
healthy sexual appetite.  I haven't had any appetite since I gained all this weight.
I know having surgery messes with your hormones.  I have finished having
menopause for a number of years now.  I would imagine it should even out.
Wish me luck.  I wish you much luck with this issue.

I think it is bcos you have discovered a new you. Also, it makes having sex so much easier and more fun. My favorite position is to ride (I like being in control, and of course the way it feels), and losing weight makes it all possible. I think that is what it is... there's just more possibilities. I also think one's body "wakes-up," and you are more aware of men, and it's easier to get aroused. I think it's very normal.

I am so glad to hear that.  I am much older than my boyfriend.  I  can't wait to tell him about this  benefit.

I experienced the same thing. I'm pretty happy about it. I don't know why it happened, but it sure is nice that my body isn't physically in the way of doing some things. I am looking forward to getting more weight off, so my husband and I can do even more.

Glad you are doing well. It is so great that you got so much weight off so quickly!
