First post. I frequent this board a lot but I never post. I’m 3 months and 27 days out. I had VSG 2/1/12 Surgery weight 220. Weight this morning was 165. I’m 5’5. Didn’t do a pre-op diet so all my weight was lost post surgery; 55 lbs to date.

The night before surgery 1/31/12 depressed disgusting

Today 5/27/12 in Target trying on bikinis! Never thought I'd be able to say that again!

I’m so thankful for this tool but I wish I could say that I’m totally happy and confident. Fear of regain is soooo intense. I also fear that I may develop bulimia (that’ll be another post). My self-esteem is still garbage. Sometimes I feel like I’m treating it like a diet and not a lifestyle change. Taking things one day at a time is making a difference.

Anyway, I think I’m losing steadily because I work out 6-7 days/w****ep my calories 700-900. I was super militant about tracking and carbs up until May 1. These days I eat carbs more often and I track on days when I know I’ve been naughty just so I can see the “damage" I’ve done and hold myself accountable.

No idea what I want to get down to. I like being thick and feminine. I think 150 will be a good goal. It was 145 but I think 145 would look really weird on my frame. Suggestions?

I love this board and advice from vets who tell it like it is and are not patronizing with their comments/advice. This **** is hard mentally and I appreciate you all.

You look so so amazing!!! What a great job you've done!  You should really go see a professional about the possible eating disorder.  We all need support after big changes like this.  Please she a psychologist.  You are looking amazing  Also no skin!!! Lucky girl!

You're at 165?  You don't look it!  You look athletic and muscular in the most feminine of ways.  I think you look great!

[I'm not gaining weight. I keep lowering my goal!] [I LOVE MY SLEEVE!]

all... i... can... say... is... WOW!!!!!! you look amazing! what an accomplishment - 55lbs down!!

i'm not a vet - and personally this is already the most weight i've lost in my life and i'm only half way there. but i would encourage you to stop now and re-assess your goals and then set them so you can work towards your final weight loss goals the same way you attacked the first part.  if you aren't feeling confident that you can maintain without being as vigilent - then continue being vigilent.  it has paid off for you already - no sense leaving the rest of your journey to chance. and watch those carbs - they have a way of sneaking up on you before you know it! ;-)

i think you look great right now - but only you know if you feel as good as you look.  nothing wrong with setting your goal at 150 and then seeing how you feel when you get there. you can always go up or down from there.

your right, this is definitely more of a mental game than it is a physical one.  but you are doing it! you should be proud of yourself. don't forget to start working on your self image while you're making progress with your weight. you may want to look into talking with a counselor who can help you.

take care!!!
