Food just isn't the same anymore, which is a good thing.  Nowadays I really don't want to eat because I simplymdont be the pleasure it once gave.  These past few days about half of my nutrition comes from protein shakes, which is starting to make me gag.  YUCKY!

I still have my days where food is unappealing and I am very content to drink my protein shakes...the days I am off work I try and make myself eat at least 2 meals, because on the days I work I drink 2 shakes and one meal...I am grateful that I am not obsessed with food and not hungry, so this hasnt bothered me yet, I am down 85 pounds ;0 ) which TASTES GREAT!!

I still feel that way sometimes at 10 months out =(  It's not the same to dive into something yummy when you only get a few bites! I do have a few things that I enjoy that the small amount I can eat I really like and that is fajitias or chipotle burrito bowls. The nice thing about a chipotle burrito bowl ( i usually get meat, cheese, guacomole, lettuce and salsa) is that it lasts me usualy 4-5 meals!

I'm the same way at almost 11 months out.  I have to eat protein or else I wouldn't waste my time eating.  I just hope it stays this way forever...something tells me that it won't.

At least I know I'm not alone here. I watch other people shoveling their food in and think that's what I used to look like. Food is simply nourishment for me now, nothing enjoyable about it. I'm six weeks post-op.

I'm 6 wks post op too and I actually have to remind myself to eat.  It's crazy!!!  I try to eat breakfast with only protein but sometimes I forget.  I don't think I've forgotten to eat in my entire life!  Protein shakes are my go to meal when I'm rushing around on the weekends so I get most of my protein from them (at least on the weekends).  I do try to eat actual food though since it has nutrients as well and I can't live off protein shakes forever.

I totally get what you're saying though!

I feel that way sometimes. but last night I had a great dinner. It really satified me. I had 2ozs. of chicken and some raw spinach (about 1/2 cup) topped with 1/4 cup of cottage cheese and two cherry tomatoes . It was yummy and I enjoyed it.
