150 lbs lost - with pic
Well I've officially lost 150 lbs as of yesterday when this pic was taken (I'm the one on the left). In a little over 6 weeks, I will be at my 1 year surgiversary! I only have 9 lbs to go to reach my pre plastics goal and I'm gonna do everything possible to reach that goal in the next six weeks. Wish me luck!
Thanks!
I eat a little different now but in the beginning (the first 7 or 8 months) a typical day was 70 grams protein, under 40 of carbs (usually under 30) and between 500 - 700 calories per day if I was lucky. That's not for everyone but I just had a hard time getting more calories than that. My doctor wanted me closer to 1000 calories per day, which of course would have slowed my weight loss down a little. I usually ate a boiled or scrambled egg for breakfast, tuna salad for lunch (sometimes with 1 or 2 crackers), cheese or almonds for a morning snack, lowfat peanut butter for a afternoon snack, and some kind of fish or steak for dinner. I would drink a small can of V8 almost every day. That's where most of my veggies and carbs came from. I use nectar protein. It has the least amount of calories and carbs and high protein. I mix it with crystal lite. Keep a food journal. It will help keep you accountable and don't cheat. If you want this to work, you must follow the rules. I will cheat a little now but I didn't at all in the first 6 months and it helped me. Now I can eat half a cookie or a chip or 2 and stop but I believe that is because I was so strict in the beginning that I trained myself to keep everything in moderation because just because it will fit in my tummy doesn't mean I should keep eating it.
And don't forget your water. I had a hard time at first but just kept trying. I drink atleast 60 oz of water per day and usually more like 80 or 90. You do not want to get dehydrated!
I also have learned to love to excercise. I joined a gym because no matter how much I like to work out, and I really like it, I don't do very well unless I leave the house. It's too easy to say, "I'm tired, I'll do it later" so I leave my house and go to the gym or sometimes I go for a walk or jog. I will go as far as I think I can handle and I don't ever think about the walk back. I end up getting twice the excercise that way and it feels great when I'm done.
