I got my second period post op and OMG PAIN.....my first one I was still on pain meds a couple days after surgery so I didn't feel a thing.  My ovaries feel like they are gonna rip out of my stomach.  I called my bariatric clinic and they said to take extra strength tylenol and follow up with family doctor.  I had my VSG on Aug 22nd anyone have any advise...is this normal ...will it always be like this ?

Thanks

I had my first period (becuz i stopped BC the day before surgery) on the following 3rd day after. I was on meds and it helped...but my back was hurting and my stomach felt sick etc.... I started back on BC today and so I wont be having my second period for 3 weeks...but im sure these are the keys to getting through it....I will also be doing this...

Extra Strength Tylenol ( as much as you can take in a day)
Warm towel folded and put it on your tummy/back
Hot Tea/Good Movie
Take a nap
:)

you will get through it!!!

Yes it's normal.  My period has been all kinds of crazy.  Weight loss like this releases hormones in to the body.  It's a crazy fun ride!

Just make  sure you aren't going over 4grams in total a day (8 Extra strength tylenol)  It's  hard on your liver.  If you are allowed to take Ibuprofen post VSG then that might work better. I  don't know what the  rules are on that one though.

I believe there are a list of OK meds for migranes..but most have anti-inflammatories...which are a  no-no. So i suggest you ask before hand if their is a strong med for migranes that is okay for VSG I get migranes too..but they tend to go away after I rest... or one day...
