MFP -- Read results carefully -- not all entries are accurate!

Just a warning!  Today I entered steamed shrimp.  I had about a half pound left over from dinner last night, and the first entry was Generic- Large  Steamed Shrimp, so I selected 15 (which was how many there were) and entered it.  Later in the day, I was looking at the nutrition info, and realized that there was only 1 g. of protein listed for what was essentially 1/2 pound of shrimp.  WRONG!

I went back and selected Generic - 1/2 pound Steamed Shrimp -- almost twice the calories and 52 g. of protein.

Just a warning to make sure and read the nutritional info -- and if it doesn't look right, double check somewhere else or look at other entries that are similar!

I will sometimes check the nutritional info of several similar items before selecting one, I have also Google how much protein is in X just to make sure MFP is close.  Sometimes all that is listed on an item in MFP is calories.

I weigh everything with my scale,   I don't trust quantities for things like that.

I scan the UPC with my phone whenever possible, and yes watch carefully. Good advice.

Thanks for posting this...it's really helpful because I sometimes wondered about this.  Like another poster stated, I now try to scan  the UPC codes as much as possible.
