Did not eat a bite at the Chocolate Reception I Hosted!

I did not eat a single bite of anything at the chocolate reception I hosted.  I had to touch just about everything to plate it, and arrange it.  And then, some well-meaning moron (I mean dedicated church member), brought my absolute favorite childhood treat -- no bake chocolate oatmeal cookies.  I made them when I was a kid (obviously, from the size of my butt even then) -- but I love those things.

When I took the plastic wrap off, the smell wafted up, and she made them really small, and I thought "Just one little one" before I smacked myself up the side of the head and went to find my husband and tell him to come protect me from evil cookies!

I made it through the entire event, including clean up -- then we went to a late dinner where I had an absolutely wonderful lamb tagine!  Which I'll have a couple more times this week.

Now, I'm prepped for next week's "Dessert Gala".  That will also have a few cheese plates, so it won't be so bad!

Thanks for the encouragement!

To be honest with you, I never had any doubt that you would/could do this.  Your dedication shines through in every post.  I hope you feel well deserved pride in your ability to do the right thing.  This experience will make it easier to do the right thing next time too.  Congratulations.

Great job, Linda!  I love how you didn't succumb to that temptation, especially the one rooted in your childhood.  Those can be tough ones to resist.

Great job employing another one of the tools we have:  your mini support group!

Keep up the GREAT work!  You really are an inspiration!
