Abdominal cramps...please HELP!!!

I'm one and a half week out....I've taken Pepcid, Imodium, Gas X....but I'm still having really bad abdominal cramps like I'm about to have diarrea....it really hurts...any advice??

Sounds like you're having ALL the fun...is this your first time pooping since surgery???

I've been pooping since day 6....now the cramps in my stomach are just unbearable unless I take like 3 Imodiums....this is really painful (and embarrassing)

Immodium will help stop up the but****er.  Take a tablet w each but****er explosion.  Try an ibuprofen/tylenol/nsaid of your doctors approval for the cramping pains. Don't be embarrassed!  What's a lil but****er among friends?  LOL.  I feel for you tho...

Thanks....I think I've taken more Imodium in the past few days than in a years worth....it's killing me....my poor tummy....it needs a hug. My husband put a stethoscope to my belly and was shocked by all the noises

What are you eating/drinking?
Some people become temporarily lactose intolerant after surgery, or you could be reacting to the artificial sweeteners in most shakes.

What about an acid reducer? I was feeling a little Like that too until I got my Protonixs. Now I feel better

is it upper or lower abdomen?  If it's lower abdomen, I would suggest that you call your surgeon.  If it's upper abdomen (stomach area), I think it's one of the above.  In any way, do not hesitate to call your doctor's office--you paid (or your insurance paid) good money for this new tummy and if you have concerns, it's the doctors responsibility to address them!
