My surgery is scheduled for 3/27.  Does anyone have any advice as far as clothing goes?  I'm currently a 26/28..closer to 28.  I have a couple items in the 22/24 range, but that's it.  I'm not sure how fast I will fly through sizes.  So I'm not sure what to do.

I've been buying new sizes on sale...a lot of people do 2nd hand stores, I wouldn't buy anything that fits well when you go shopping - buy things that are a little snug, so you can have them for awhile.

It took me losing 50 pounds to get from a 22/24 to a 20!  And then I almost flew threw an 18 ( about 15 pounds or so).  It depends on your body type too.  I'm a tall pear shape.  Now I'm a 14/16.  I have 3-4 pairs of pants and about 6 nice shirts.  I'm buying slowly and still wearing some big ones.  It works for me.  Have fun shopping!

It might be a little different for men but I found that every three weeks I would have all my clothes fit too big on me.  Especially during stalls which is when the inches lost happens really fast.  My best friend on my way down was Goodwill and another Thrift store locally that donates all profit to Alzheimer's Research at Duke University.  Currently they have for the past 5 years donated over $200,000 per year with their total donations over $1.3 million dollars to date.  I really love shopping their as I lost my grandma to Alzheimers.  Also on a side note every item they bring into the store they will personally steam clean before selling.  They also have a deal where you buy 5 and get 6th free.  I bought 6 items (3 dress shirts and 3 pants) for $15 plus tax.  Can't beat that.  A whole month later I couldn't wear the pants as they had become 2 sizes too big.  The shirts you can fudge a little but they were starting to drape on me.  My waist pre surgery was a size 40 and currently a boys 14 husky which is about equivalent to a 28 inch waist is too big.  I probably have a size 26ish waist at this point in time.  This all happened in 6 months.  Wow ... 14 inches in my waste gone in 6 months.  Until I was typing that out I hadn't really thought much about it.

Best surgery ever ... yay.  Talk about a major NSV.

Wow...that's an awesome thrift store you found that donates their profits for Alzheimer's research!  Wish we had something like that close to me.  I also lost my Grandmother to Alzheimer's.  Such a sad, terrible disease to watch your loved one suffer from.

I fortunately (or unfortunately) had saved a lot of my clothes that I "planned to lose the weight and fit into".  I supplemented by hitting the thrift stores as I knew I would not be in them long.

I bagged up the clothes that are now too big and brought them to my support group meeting to give to anyone who could use them.  They loved the idea!  The clothes that they don't take, I'll donate to the AmVets.

I went from a tight 26 to a snug comfy in 4 months.

Good luck!

I wish we could do a regional swap day. Bring a bag full, take what you need.
