I believe you can take vitamins in the non-chewable form if you can tolerate swallowing the pills.  My surgeon recommended Mega Multi for Women by 21st Century Vitamin.  It's two pills a day.

I couldn't stomach my chewable vitamins after surgery, and my Nutritionist suggested crushing them and mixing them with a little unsweetened fat-free yogurt.  This worked well for me.  The yogurt cut that nasty sweetness enough to make them tolerable.  Similarly you could try it with unsweetened applesauce.

Good luck,

Carol

You could also try a gummi vitamin or a pill.  Some of my vitamins are chewable and some are hard pills.

I couldn't stand the bariatric advantage after surgery either.  I found Bariatric Fusion Complete which eliminates the need for calcium and B12 supplements.  They're still sweet but not as bad as B.A.   Good luck!

I've been taking regular whole vitamins and pills since about 12 weeks out.  I don't believe you "must" use chewable forever, it's just easier and usually recommended early out as your stomach is healing and more sensitive. Crushing them up in your allowable stage food usually works until your Doc OKs whole meds.(Some prescription meds should not be crushed- check with a pharmacist regarding those)

Yea, the BA Calcium one's are worse than the multi. Does anyone use gummies? Seems like to me they would get stuck and not dissolve well.

I just take centrum normal...pills type. And for calcium sometimes the bariatric advantage chews and sometimes just normal calcium citrate in pill form...I could not stand the chewables (not the same as the chews) and gave all of those away.

i've just taken regular pills pretty much since the beginning.  i take other medication (smaller pills!) so i started there and once i could take those comfortably i could take the vites.  not sure when it was, but there's no reason to take the chewables unless you like 'em!

I used Centrum chewables - orange.  Not too bad. Did not like BA

I was told not to take gummies.
