Fever 6 days post op

I've been feeling weaker and weaker as the day goes on...now my belly is so sore, feels like it is swinging like a pendulum with every step i take. I'm complete freezing. Got the a/c on 81, wearing a heavy nightgown under sweats. Just got up to make a cup of tea and thought i'd take my temp...101.2.

I took a hydrocodone with acetopminophen. Any other advice? Should i call my Doc at 9pm on a Monday night? Go to the ER? i'm clueless. help!

I would call right now.  And if you can't get in touch with him.. I would go to the ER.  Better safe than sorry! Good luck!

I would call.  It is probably fine, but if you do by chance have a bit of a leak that is nothing to play around with.

Any Surgeon worth his salt will want you to call now. 101.2 six days post op is not normal unless you hapen to have a bad cold at the moment.

i did get a cold in the hospital, sneezing and coughing my head off, but it's been better today, no sneezing at all.

spoke with doc, he told me to head back to the hospital. my temp is now 101.9. problem is i live an hour and a half north of the hospital, and it's pouring rain out...he asked if i was drinking enough fluids, i said yes. i'm going to continue to monitor and call him in the a.m.

Damn damn just when i thought i was outta the woods.

Please call someone and have them drive you back to the hospital.  A fever after surgery is serious.  Don't try to tough it out right now.  It could be a serious leak, it could be pneumonia.  Things can get bad fast.  Check back and let us know you're OK

Go to the ER right now.  You could have a leak and you need to be seen now.  Just go.

Go to ER I had a temp of 102 - 1 week post op...turned out to be a kidney infection and with a fever you dehydrate..they gave me a bag of water and antiobotics...felt so much better in a few days...but go...
