Restaurant help!
I will be going to a concert next Friday to see Justin Timberlake and Jay Z next Friday! I'm super excited!!! But that means that we will be going to dinner before and also lunch the next day in San Francisco. This will be my first time going to a restaurant since being sleeved. July 18th was my one month anniversary I'm doing great but I'm just a little worried about how i will do at the restaurant anybody have any suggestions on what they do or order?
Lots of fresh sushi in San Fran! Yum! I'm not sleeved yet, but some friends who've had WLS order off the kids menu. It's a more manageable portion for them they say. I also hear friends doing things like grilled chicken sandwiches and ditching the bun. Opt for the steamed veggies instead of fries. ;-)

Well, if you do have sushi you'll probably be full off one or two rolls which might not give you much nutrition?? I'm going to assume you'll want a protein drink in there pretty quick. Not sure on the rice though. It will expand slightly more in your tummy but is generally an easy digestible food. Regardless, good luck and HAVE FUN!!! So jealous! I LOVE JT and the Bay!

I actually had a hard time with sashimi at first. In fact, it still hits my restriction pretty hard/quick....which I LOVE. I love having that restriction feeling (I'm strange, I know). But you should be good to go with a soup, or ask for a grilled chicken breast or grilled fish... I have never had a problem eating out at restaurants. Even the most greasy of greasy spoons always have something that works or something I can request to be done slightly different to make it work. :)
It's good to hear that you're doing well preop!
You probably want to avoid rice, especially if that was anything like a trigger food for you preop. Our plan tells us not to eat "sticky" stuff like rice.
If a restaurant is already selected, can you look at an online menu and make some choices that way? If not, that grilled chicken sandwich with ditched bread is sounding like a plan IF you tolerate chicken well. If not, maybe a burger with condiments held or on the side would do the trick, again ditching the bun. Tuna salad could be another option.
If you're going to the concert right after dinner, you won't want to be schlepping a take-home container around, I'll bet, so I won't mention that oft-used tactic. :)
