Thanks for the explanation about exercise...I have been wondering about this because I have not been cleared for full activity yet and am chomping at the bit to get into the pool for some water aerobics...but no twisting allowed yet. :(  Two more weeks!

I can only agree w/ what has already been said..
However my little piece of advise is this..weigh EVERYDAY..
Many will disagree, and you WILL be frustrated b/c your in a stall
BUT by weighing myself everyday, I learned very quickly the rythmn
Of my body...how I loose, when I stall and that information empowered
Me!..I'm only 3 months out and although that first stall at week three
FOR 3 WEEKS, Almost sent me over the edge, after it broke and the following months I saw my pattern and it was comforting...also take a good look at your body..you'll start to see things change and shift in the days of stalls...
And inches will melt away when your in stalls..I don't know why but they do!

It's so reassuring to read these responses! I had surgery on July 8 and am only down 10 lbs since then. It's been a little discouraging but I lost 30 lbs pre-op so my doc says not to worry,  the weight will come off when it comes off.

My tips for surviving a stall/sluggish loss:

1. drink more water. As hard as it was to do, I have a little system set up that works well most days.

2. be patient. This, too, shall pass. As you observe, it makes no mathematical sense.

3. measure yourself. Check out my 1 month post op blog about losing inches on stall days. It's not scientific, but it seemed I lost over .5 inch per day on days that the scale wasn't moving.

Good luck! Chin up! Give it time!

For the first month or so after surgery, I hardly lost anything. In the second month I got to see what my "normal" weight loss patern is. Hang in there. Keep following your plan and the scale will catch up.
