At my final life skills class (surgi center requires 3 sleeve classes) they told us not to check the scale for a week. They said they pump us so full of fluids and gas the number will only depress us and not do us any good. I am no pro and still pre-sleeve. But I just wanted to share what I was told. Congrats and good luck to you!

Yes... when I walked out of the hospital, I was the exact same weight as I was walking in. The IV fluid and all of the pain meds take 3-6 days to get through.

After that, I became friends with my scale!

I am so glad to hear you are on the mends and feeling better.  When I had my surgery, I was up 8 pounds after surgery and lost 2 pounds a day for several days.  I'm sure it was water.

Best of luck with your recovery and weight-loss journey,

Carol
