Well, 9 months and goal post with some pictures...

So, I guess I've been at goal since about August 20th.  That's when the scales read 150.  I dreamed about that happening-about how I'd fall down in a heap on the floor- how I'd have such an inspirational and mindblowing post to get out the very second it happened- how my pictures would wow and and and...And the day came and went.  I did post a quick two second notice with a "big post to follow"...and more days came and went.  My nine months day passed, too. Hmmm, what's up with that?  What's up is, I think, that I'm seeing that the moment, while bringing happiness and a feeling of accomplishment is not where my joy is.  The pure JOY has been with me for a while now--was there way back when I first and finally took responsibility for my health and well being--when I started doing for my self what I wouldn't or couldn't do for myself before, which was to DO SOMETHING.  Frisco calls it commitment and compliance.  It's that.  It's perseverance and discipline. It's self love. It's homework for a lifetime and devoting the energy necessary to maintain for a lifetime.  The joy is physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual growth and one day on the scale cannot hold it.  Joy is the process- making goal is a happy day.  I'm going with the joy. The numbers are pretty much on the ticker.  It took me 25 months, more or less to reach my goal. 9 months since surgery.  I give it to God who's steadfast love, grace and discipline enabled me to practice the same as regards myself. I've learned a lot.  Miss 150 has grown up a little.  She intends to grow some more. My advise?  Don't give up.  My gift? Hope and encouragement.  My truth?  Be totally honest with yourselves, then trust the process and ENJOY THE JOURNEY!  Motto: PRIDE is Progress Realized In Daily Effort.  Let's continue to put in the effort and walk in health. Smiles and cyber hugs your way, today.  Bonnie.

Well, I guess it's the obligatory before pic...Oh, my.

Thank you so much.  You are going to do this!  Heck, you already are.  The first. Few weeks are a jumble, but all will sort itself out. The routine was very important to me- not giving in all the time to my every whim or emotion or notion.  Just keeping on keeping on.

Your post says it all. I am very excited when I see the scale move, but
I know it will move down. I am way less anxious than I was. I no longer have to think about Monday & a new diet. I like that you waited to post - it feels right to me. Your pictures are beautiful. I liked your description of Pride . I also like to think of Power in the same way- an old Oprah saying of Power is strength over time. We flex those muscles, mental and physical, and become more powerful everyday.

Thank you for your wisdom.

Nancy
