Starting my pre-op clear liquid only diet for the next three days and wondering if Syntrax Nectars count as a clear liquid?? I'd like to have a way to get protein in but I'm not sure if that's allowed. Anyone know or have a guess? :)

No, clear liquids are ones which you can see through.  Apple juice, tea, water.  If you have a plain protein powder that mixes with water, it would be considered a clear.  Check with your surgeon and see if you can drink Syntrax Nectar.  Their clear program might have a fuzzy line.

My surgeon told me that if mixed protein powder with water, it's considered clear.  If I mix with milk, it's "cloudy."  Hope that helps!

I was also told by my bariatric center that syntrax nectars if mixed with water are clear liquid.  The chocolate / vanilla / strawberry / cookie flavors are normally mixed with some kind of milk so they would not be considered clear.  Call your center just to be sure.

I was also told to stay away from anything with red or purple dye for the week before surgery
