Dry-Itchy Cough?

Has anyone experienced a dry itchy cough?  I am almost 3 weeks out and was up all night with this scratchy-dry-itchy cough.  Not sure if it is sleeve related or if I am just coming down with something...a little concerned because before they removed the Lapband I had a horrible night cough so I kind of had a flash back!

 

are you taking a PPI? I'm not a doctor but it sounds like acid reflux cough to me. you can get otc Prilosec and see if that makes any difference if your doc does not have you in a PPI.

Do you take Actigall to prevent gallstones?  That's a big side effect of it that many people don't realize it does ....

I had no idea about the gallstones.  I will talk to my doctor for sure!  I do however take some prescription stuff for reflux.  I will talk to my surgeon if it happens again tonight....

Yeah, shortly after I started taking the Actigall, I began having this annoying, dry cough..doc said that its a side effect of the med..weird!

If this was just something that came on last night (more or less), it's probably just a cold or seasonal bug.  I wouldn't schedule the gall bladder surgery just yet.  LOL

In any case, I doubt the sleeve is contributing much to the issue.  Of course, call the PCP or surgeon if anything seems suspicious.

Probably gastric reflux....I had it too and swore I was getting something.  Nope, no lung issues just this constant dry, unproductive cough.  If you're not on a PPI, please ask your doctor to put you on one now.  It's nothing to mess around with.  

Try Delsym until you can see your doc. It lasts 12 hours and starts working almost immediately. ...good luck :-)
