Small but meaningful NSV one year out
My one year surgery date is coming up on March 4, and I have been doing a lot of thinking about where I am in this whole journey. I just wanted to share what happened today because it is encouraging to me and it might be to someone else, too. DH and I are getting away for the weekend (hotel sex!), and we checked into a Doubletree in Campbell this afternoon. The whole time we were checking in, I was thinking about the cookies they would give us. Now, I really like these cookies, they are big and warm and full of chocolate and oats. And my hubby does not like them because they have walnuts, so I get to eat his, too. So, the whole time I was thinking about how much I would enjoy eating those cookies....and then, when the clerk said she was going to get our cookies, I said "no cookies for us, please", and did not even feel e twinge of regret. I even bragged to my husband about it in the elevator, since I don't think he really gets the mental side of this whole thing.
Anyway, that's my little story. Today has been a good day. Happy weekend to all.

Mindless would be great, wouldn't it? Stairs have become mindless for me. There are a few others, like passing up the bread products, protein first, and no liquids with meals. But there are lots more out there!

Thank you. It felt good. Just went to Coldstone for dessert, tasted the frozen yogurt and decided it did not taste good enough to waste calories on. Back to the room for a protein drink. But I did have chicken satay for dinner, and a bite of pad Thai, so there some treats.

Thank you. I think I needed something to be easy today. The weather has been brutal, although we are getting some desperately needed rain. I was kind of regretting our decision to make the trip this weekend, but now I feel like I got something important out of it just for me.

Your post made me smile good for you enjoy your weekend. Last night me and my family went to a concert and i was realizing a just how different a year is . In the past i would ask hubby to drop me off in front of door so i wouldnt have to walk from parking lot...last night i was running to door from parking lot hecause it was cold and left my family in the dust waited for them inside warm and toasty!!!
