Soup, anyone?

I haven't had soup often but, when I do, I do the liquids first (when my pyloric valve is open) and then the solids.  

If I'm having something thick, like chili, I just measure out 4 ounces.

well i used to have soup in the early phases of real food quite often and didn't worry about the liquid thing.  I would poach a chicken breast and chop it up in the food processor. then add a couple of spoonfuls of the chicken to some hot chicken broth.  that made it possible for me to get a little dense protein in which otherwise was hard to eat. so i wouldn't worry - just make sure the soup contains the right stuff.  diane
