Celebrating success! (Plus a new pic)
This journey isn't all sunshine and rainbows, but overall I'm really learning to appreciate the successes. The little things. The NSV's.
I've learned that lean healthy protein is fabulous, and I'm learning new ways to prepare it.
I've learned that exercise doesn't have to be work, that it can be fun! And my body loves the way a good workout feels.
I've learned that "sweets" are no longer a trigger for me and all that Christmas sugar is just less interesting than it used to be.
I've learned that salty and crunchy *IS* a trigger, so just one tortilla chip is a bad idea.
I've learned that thrift and consignment shopping is a blast, and finding bargains is better than anything I've ever eaten.
I've learned that I can take a cruise vacation and still stick (mostly) to my eating plan. I gained 2 lbs, and lost it again.
I've learned that making this lifelong commitment to my health is spilling over into other parts of my life - family, faith, friendship, etc.
Below is one of the "formal night" photos from our cruise. Look how relaxed and healthy I am!!
Happy New Year, one and all.
