The Biggest Secret to WLS-WL and Maintenance !!!!

Well, maybe..... if not the biggest secret the second to biggest !!!

This word is not talked about here very much.... were all looking for the one more tip, that magic bullet that makes everything all better.....

I always like to look at trends and see who is doing what and why it works or did not work for them. Through watching trends you get to see higher and lower rates of success and failures. Although not scientific, still a pretty good reality marker. If it's black it's black.... if it's white it's white...... if it's grey it needs more thought......

The thing about WLS is that it is still a pretty wide open subject with many new developments happening everyday for both doctors and patients.

If you look at most who do well at this there are several commonalities, but the number one thing that "I" think most of them have.......

Determination !!!!!

Determination trumps a whole lot of other issues. Sure those issues need to be addressed, but determination can squish them to be smaller.

Determination...... A very powerful tool!!! Get you some !!!!  It's a good thing !!!!

I totally agree.  It was determination that did it for me.  And is still doing it!

Here's to everyone's success!

Absolutely !!!!!

When I first began my journey, I would come on here and read the post about their surgery. Then after I had surgery, I would come on here reading about how others are handling their surgery and looking at the weight loss. Now that I am 18 months out and still losing, although slowly, I read the post about re-gain. The 2 things I have noticed from all this reading are

1) Most people who begin to re-gain do not reach their goal before the re-gain begins

2) They slide back in old habits of eating too many simple carbs

This tells me people become discouraged because they do not reach their goal and lose that determination to succeed.

People tell me all the time I mush have a lot of will power ( I still do not eat any desserts, pasta, rice, bread, and etc.)  but it is not will power. I am determined to make this journey be a life time.
