My VSG surgery is right around the corner 3/22/16 and I am feeling nervous and excited. I am sure this is normal to feel this way. One minute i let the fears of surgery make me second guess my choice to do this and then I think about the health consequences of doing nothing. - I know this is the right thing for me to do and I will be healthier and happier in the end. I find it very helpful to go through the postings on here and read the success stories of the rest of you... I know I can do this !!! ... Also all the before and after pictures are helping a lot right now to keep me focused on getting through the surgery and changing my lifestyle for the better me :)

I will post again next week after getting home from the hospital and let everyone know how it went !!...

We all go through this, but don't let it stop you.  I was doubting my surgery right up until they wheeled me into the OR, but I haven't regretted any of it now that I'm on the loser's bench.  So much of my life has changed, and all of it is for the better.

You can do this, and you will be grateful that you did.

I felt this way last week.  I felt like this a few moments my first few days.  It passes as you hit milestones like leaving hospital, drinking, having a protien shake, having soup, and so on.

No lies it's weird.  I had a strange sadness that kept up on me about cutting out my stomach and throwing it away.  I literally was sad part of my was at some medical waste location.

So as you can see above and crazy Ol thing will go through your mind but go back to why are you doing this, who supports who, and think of all the things you'll be able to do.  It'll help clear your mind.

Right there with you!  I start my pre-op diet today in preparation for my 4/4/16 surgery.  I have read and reread posts on this site and find it encouraging!

Best of luck to you, you got this!
