I went for a bone density test and mammogram yesterday. They measured my height. I've always measured 5'2". But I measured 5'2.5". Maybe without the extra weight I can stand up a little straighter? Anyone else have this happen?

I did!  I'd always thought I was 5' 6.5", but the last time they measured my height they said I was 5' 7"!  Woot!

me too. I had lost half an inch - I think due to being weighted down with fat but got it back after losing weight. My surgeon just thinks I am walking taller with confidence but I know the truth.  diane s

My PT told me the disks in the spine expand as we lose weight.  When we are obese, the weight compresses the spinal disks.  Losing weight causes this to be relieved.  I am about a 1/3 an inch taller than I was last June.

I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

That's interesting info. I can't wait to become taller. I'm gonna start having them measure my height!
