Morning. Back to the grind today, I guess? I'm feeling really 'meh' about going back to work. Especially now that there are less than 10 days until our students arrive again and the semester starts! We have a very short winter break.

Good morning everyone. Today will be a stressful day. On NYE, our Shih Tzu, Button, was startled by a firecracker and darted under my wheelchair. His back foot got smooshed under one of the wheels. He has been a three legged puppy for the last two days so today we will take him to the vet and see what the problem is and whether it is just sore or broke.

QOTD: How long do you leave Christmas up?

We vary wildly. Some years, it is up till Feb 1, other years it is down on New Years day. This year, we will be dismantling inside this coming week and taking down the outside stuff next weekend.

QOTD: We only do a tree and a few other sparse things indoors, but it came down before the cleaner came 2 days after Christmas.

Sorry about your puppy. Our Chiquita (16 year old chihuahua) finally went out to poop this morning after eating really well yesterday. She must have slipped on the ice because she came in limping and was whimpering softly when I first put her into her bed. I hope your puppy and mine are okay.

It is weird not to have a work grind to go back to! We are driving 3 hours round trip today to visit DD before we leave for Florida on Friday. I hate doing the drive (though my commute for work was usually that long), but it will be good to see DD.

QOTD: In the past we would put Christmas decorations up the day after Thanksgiving and leave them up until the weekend after January 6 (little Christmas). Our wreaths would stay up until late February. This year all decorations went up on December 12, the day after we returned from Florida. All were taken down yesterday except the tree in the sunroom and the wreaths. The ornaments on the tree are coming off today, the wreaths down tomorrow, the tree down Thursday, and we leave for Florida on Friday. How's that for a plan?

I am entirely too cold right now. I hate being cold.

My classes opened yesterday and they start on the 8th. I'll be taking Service/Program Management (Gerontology) and Health Care Policies (Health Management). No group work in either - yay!

QOTD: The only decoration I ever have up is the live wreath my parents/mom send every year. I tend to take it down.. before April?

I always despised group work. One of my graduate classes was formatted in groups THE ENTIRE COURSE. Blech!

It is the worst. :/ I've found it even worse with online classes than with in person ones. At least, with in person classes, I'm guaranteed to see my group mates every so often!

I was feeling meh about going back to work, took a second to say I'm thankful I have a job working with good people and good benefits and that I'm excited to go back and see today.

QOTD - Didn't put anything up this year

It is so different planning my meals on work days than day's off work.

Yes, back to the grind. I don't mind working, I just hate getting up and having to get ready and leave the house. I'm also not looking forward to returning to 5 day work weeks. First world problems for sure!

QOTD: We took all of ours down last Friday. We like to get it down and put away before we have to return to work and the normal grind.
