Good morning Annie. It is going to be another scorcher here (there have been many this summer). We are going sailing with friends so it should be nice on the boat.

QOTD: I can't come up with one of those things. I read constantly as a child and still do, so it is probably all the great books I read that helped me grow.

Always lots of coffee...

B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: fish (out to lunch)

Having trouble sleeping so STILL up from yesterday...bleh. No big plans for today except working on my new college class, American Sign Language part 2. Enjoyed the first one, and even though I don't really need it, decided to take the 2nd half and improve my skills. I hope it will help when I start substitute teaching, which I hope will be in about a month. I just got the last of my transcripts and have to submit them with my application for the certificate, so wish me luck!!

QOTD: I don't read self-hel*****nfiction except the occasional biography. Mostly I read mysteries and crime fiction/thrillers, so not a lot of personal growth fodder there lol. I guess I'd have to say the Bible has been the book that has provided me with the most help and insight. I'm not super religious but I was raised as a regular church goer, and have read the Bible off and on my whole life. I find the older I get, the more I return to it for solace or comfort.

B: Yogurt with crunchy peanut butter, coffee w/cream and xylitol

L: Turkey snack sticks, Swirls cheese sticks, zucchini slices w/ranch dressing

D: If I get the sour cream I forgot yesterday, the plan is taco bowl...taco meat, cheese, guacamole, sour cream, and a little lettuce and tomato. Yummo!

Water and vites on track

E: Still waiting for the cortisone to kick in!

ASL 2 is more intense but you probably will enjoy it and it very well may come in handy when you are teaching. I'm sure you are going to do a great job!

Hi Cathy!

Me too! Hahahaha. The Bible is my #1 and I also love science fiction and mysteries but instead of reading them I turn on Sirius XM Old Time Radio channel and listen to them, Dimension X, X Minus One, Johnny Dollar, etc. while i work around the house.

I love your pic of the Star Trek outfit. Great fun!

LOL I am in love with audiobooks, so in addition to always having a hardback book at my bedside that I am reading, I also have a book I'm reading on my Kindle app on my phone, and then an audiobook I listen to on my computer while I'm doing things around the house, or working on other things on the computer. I always have 3 books going at once! I currently have over 1400 books in my Kindle library, plus hardbacks stacked up that I plan on reading, and I have so many audiobooks I don't even know how many!! I'll never live long enough to read the ones I have now, and I add more everyday!

As for the Bible, I admit I don't turn to it often but it is the only one that has been a constant source of inspiration for me throughout my life.

I'm also a HUGE music fan, and any classic rock tune from the 60s-90s will lift my mood every time!

Hi guys! I've been working on some new projects, and slacked off about posting. I missed reading your posts and being part of the thread!

QOTD: There are several books that have been really meaningful/helpful to me, but the one that jumps out to me right now is Tiny Beautiful Things by Cheryl Strayed. It is so lovely that I often find myself in tears while reading it. The Book of Joy by the archbishop Desmond Tutu and The Dalai Lama has helped me grow in mindfulness and compassion. I also love autobiographies and always take away something from the stories of others.

B - coffee & protein

L - protein bar

D - salad with feta and rotisserie chicken

Hi All... Hope everyone is having a great Day! I spent the morning at the Cancer Research Institute and it was not a great experience, some workers are in the wrong field! Plus they really should have told me to expect to be there from 2 - 4 HOURS! (feel bad for my driver) Anyhow no answers just another issue added to the mess!

QOTD: What book, poem, author or musical work has helped you with your personal growth, or how does it continue to get you through a difficult time? Well, there have been so many but of course first and foremost the Bible and then the song Right Here Waiting for You by Richard Marx
