I've seen a few posts where people talk about them and I'm not sure what they are exactly. TIA.

OK, I've had that once when I drank too much water but that's all in nearly 2 years.

YEP, even something as simple as water can give you the foamies.

I get the foamies when I eat to fast, take too big of a bite, and not chewing well enough.  I get a tight feeling in my chest and foam (from spit) keeps coming up.  I can still drink water and I don't have any problems breathing but it is very uncomfortable.

Sometimes it happens from certain foods.  For some reason I can not eat scrambled eggs.  You would think they would go down really easy but I've gotten the "foamies" the few times that I have tried them.

Early out I dreaded them but now even through the uncomfortable time I am so happy that my tool is still working.

Yes I normally stop at hiccups. Actually I generally stop about a minute before I get hiccups and then I just get one or 2.

I'm a hiccuper too!!!  I still get them even at almost 4 years out even if I take 1 bite to many.   Most seem to get a runny nose or watery eyes.  I think I would much rather have the hiccups.

I'm just so Thankful for my surgery!!!

I've had foamies 2x, both from eating steak that I took too big a bite and didn't chew well enough.  I haven't had it happen in a long time so maybe we get more able to cope as we get further out.  I know I eat too fast and don't chew well enough sometimes.  It is really miserable.

It passed pretty quickly when it happened to me. I barfed up a mouthful of water and that was it. Guess I'm lucky (plus my surgeon really scared me to not vomit early out saying it'd do untold damage).
