Down 20 lbs!

I hit the -20 lb mark and the "eating soft food" mark at the same time! I'm feeling really good, walking lots, and experimenting with soft protein recipes.

Now that I'm off liquids I'm a little terrified to "eat". I'm tracking all my food on MyFitnessPal, getting in protein, etc and I know that calories in vs calories out is what matters.  Still, I'm kind of petrified ... did anyone else experience "food fear"?

It is scary, magic, crazy in the beginning.  Just follow your program and you will be fine.  Don't worry about calories.  Just get in your fluids and protein and you will be fine.  I was concerned that something would make me sick after reading all the "ate ?? and now am sick" reports but I never got sick from anything.

Congratulations on your -20 pounds.

I remember being terrified to move from mushy to regular food.  I was so afraid it was going to get stuck and I was going to get sick.  Just be sure to chew, chew, chew.

Good luck.

Congrats! Loved my toddler spoon at that point, helped me take small bites and take my time.

WTG on the 20#s.

"Food fear" is normal.   Just take it slow eating and measure everything for awhile.  Concentrate on protein and liquids.  You will do great.  I had problems with a few foods early out but just waited a few weeks or a month and tried again.  I can honestly say that at 7 months post op there is nothing that I cant have a bit of, but that can be good and bad at the same time.  lol  I don't dump on any amt of carbs so far, but I try not to pu****
