Happy Weekend

Hey gang-
 It's the start of a weekend. yeah. I didn't really do much exercising this week except for monday due to the crappy weather we've been having. today is so nice out so I put my sneakers on, grabbed my sunglasses with my cd player and went for a walk. I walked 1/2mile loop which is right by my house that I love. It was a great feeling afterwards that I accomplished it. Hope everyone has a great weekend and Remember this for the weekend:
Even though some days you don't feel good or just want to crawl in your bed. get out side even if it's for 5 or 10 minutes. Go enjoy the fresh air. Sniff the flowers. Be good to yourself and you will see some results. Best wishes and talk to you all soon. Love ya, Lauren H.

Just some advice today??

Hey there gang-
 I am seeking for some advice for today. going tomorrow at 8am to get weighed and need to know what to eat today before my big weigh in? I have celiacs sprue disease which means I can't eat anything that has gluten , rye, wheat, or barley. IT has to be gluten/wehat free. I had a slimfast for breakfast. I am trying to get as much water in today as I can. That always is a huge struggle for me. If anyone can help me, I would appreciate that. Best wishes, Lauren H.

been busy

Hey there gang-
 It's been a little hectic this week and thought since I have some time, I will check in. How's things with everyone? I started to exercise this past week and it was fun. Monday and Tuesday, I started walking, I was able to walk 1/2-2miles. Wednesday I wasn't feeling so hot so I made myself walk down to my appt. and back. I felt great afterwards. Thursday I went swimming and  swam 8 laps. It was great but when friday came, I was so sore. My body isn't used to working my muscles. I took the day off. Then today, which is saturday. the weather wasn't great so I skipped. I am looking for some kind of exercise to do indoors so if the weather is bad, I can still work out. If anyone out there has any ideas, hit me up. Thanks. I am making gluten free pasta for dinner. I go get weighed on monday and I pray to lose. Hope everyone is well and will try to write again tomorrow. Keep Thinking Positive. Remember, we are on this journey together. God Bless, Lauren H.

morning all =)

The weather is shinning bright so it's a great day to get out and do some kind of exercise: walk around, go swiming at a beach or a pool, bike ride if you have a bike. I woke up this morning and usually I will have a glass of soda to start my day but instead, I chose water. that is so much better for you. just a quick little change I did to start my day right. Now, my goal today is to drink just water . when you are trying to lose weight, water is the best thing because it helps cleans out toxins in your body and you don't want them to stay. the suggested amount you should be drinking is 6-8 glasses a day but you can always drink water. there is no limit to how much you drink.
I will try to commit to write a little each morning to help you get started through the day. Today, just focus on you and what you put into your body, make sure it's healthy. Have fruit , for snacks, and then also you could have vegetable and a fat free dip. That is what I am going to have later. I got myself carrots and celery sticks with fat free ranch dip. Just don't have too much of the dip.
Here is an example of 1500 calorie diet :
Fruits- 1.5cups( all types of Fruits)
Vegetables-2cups( all types of veggies)
Dairy-2cups( stick skim milk and reduced fat cheese)
Grains(-5oz,1 slice of bread=1oz)
Protein-5-6oz(1serving =deck of cards, try 2-3servings a day)

IF you are gluten free like I am, you can have gluten free bread, gluten free english muffins.

new beginning

I went for a weigh in today at my dr's office and was happy to find out I did not gain and I did not lose. I stayed the same since last week. I was really happy but deep down inside, I feel like I have given up on my food. It's very hard for me because I have celiacs spru disease. I just can't give up my carbs like breads , bagels, and desserts. It's horrible. I am not really a huge cook because I am just learning to with my dietician. =)
 Today we are going to attempt to make a gluten free pizza. I am putting on it artichokes, mushrooms, spinach, and feta. It sounds yummy but I am hoping it turns out that way. If anyone is out there who is also gluten free and has some recipes they would like to share, Please post them . I would love to try to make new things. Thanks.
 I need to focus on exercising more. I don't do enough and don't know what I can handle due to my weight issues and also have a fib( heart disease) I have to be really careful. I am trying to find a place that has a pool that I could use. I love to go swimming. It's really enjoyable. I will look around. Please feel free to post things. I would like the support as well. Thanks.
