Interesting stuff!  I'd love to see the rest of the study as well!

What I can't help but wonder is what their post-op dietary recommendations were. If they were told to eat a typical high carb diet or if they were steered towards a low carb diet.

I'm not anywhere close to maintenence, but I lurk here often to learn from the pros.

Anyways, saw this and I can access any (well, most any) full-text article. What's the best way to post it here? I've saved it as a PDF. There was also a commentary published in another journal that I've saved as well.

A lot of the studies on WLS do have small sample sizes and you need to be careful of that. There is another study of the sleeve where they studied it in patients with a BMI of 30-35 and they had 100% EWL at two years out plus 100% diabetes reduction. While I love that result, I have always assumed it was better than average and that the 35 patients in the study had really good follow up care.

This particular study still shows VSG as having similar results to RnY. Which is what you find when you do a meta analysis on all the studies out there.
