Liz, I'm glad you are able to stay home with DH instead of going on the business trip. Soon you will be retired and won't have to worry!

Good Morning!  I'm home today on a personal day to blood work this am and another procedure.  Tonight is Andy's Christmas Concert. So, busy day ahead...my parents are coming, too!

Right now, I'm being entertained by the squirrel who's eating out of our bird feeders in a contorted fashion.  He reminds me of myself.  I can eat anywhere  and anytime! lol

Have a great day!

You're doing so well in maintenance.  Keep it up.  Glad there is no business trip.

Hello Fellow Artful Dodgers !!

140 OTD.  I am house/dog sitting for a friend with an old, sick dog and an unstable black lab who has bitten two smaller dogs and two people.  This was not well thought through on my part.  I have Sadie with me.  She is bigger than the lab and has an appropriate sense of boundaries and asserts herself well.  I keep them apart 99.9 % of the time.  It is very stressful.

Our elementary principal is going out for more surgery.  I'm finishing up December there, and have agreed to come back in retirement until they can get something else in place.

My bariatric surgeon did not agree with my lack of enthusiasm for converting to a RNY to deal with acute acid reflux.  He wants me to consider a Linx device... a magnetic "bracelet" placed at the base of the esophagus to replicate my shot sphincter. I am concerned about it becoming embedded.  They've only been out for 1 1/2 years.. not a lot of data.  From what I'm reading, they are not untended for bariatric patients.  Can I say "second opinion" ?

We can make it through December and greet 2017 with optimism and success !!!

I hate it when my docs want to try out the latest new fangled medical device on me! I got that mesh pelvic sling when they were first out and while I'm not personally having any problems (yet), lawsuits abound regarding them and I feel like a ticking time bomb. I would for sure go for a second (or 3rd) opinion!

I have a friend who is permanently disabled from that mesh sling. Took 3 surgeries to finally remove it. She is currently working out a compensatory settlement with the manufacturer.

201.  I have been lurking and telling myself to keep on swimming.  Got a cortisone shot yesterday into the base of my thumb.  The doctor said the pain was not injury related but arthritis and age related.  Pfft  I asked for cortisone.  He warned me how painful it would be.  I have had cortisone shots before, lots, but woofah, he was not exaggerating.  Today it is much better, thank God!

Been worrying about my grandson who has long been in need of psycho therapy and probably medication, but his parents are very resistant.  First holidays without both parent****s me hard at times but I have held it together.

Otherwise, everything is pretty good.  Realized that I need to tweak my daily routine since doing the same thing over and over is no longer working.  I am starting small and switched my coffee to tea.

Next is to replace the tuna that I have been eating 5 days a week to something else that would be delicious and nutritious (high protein) with raw peppers.  I love my sweet raw peppers.  Ideas?

Chicken or egg salad would go with the peppers. Or crab or shrimp!
