Six month check-up!!!
Feb 20, 2010
I found out on the 16th that I really had 6 cc's in my band. I have a new doctor and she pulled out all the fluid in my band before she gave me a fill. I couldn't believe I had so much in there. My old doctor told me I had 3 cc's in my band. It's a shame I had to find out by someone else the truth. I do love my new doctor!!! She took the time to talk to me and I really appreciated that. She was also very encouraging about my weight loss. I was feeling down, because the last few months have been a struggle for me. I've been eating too much of the wrong things and I was gaining and losing the same five pounds. She told me I was doing really well. She stated that many bandsters take a year to lose what I've lost in six months. I couldn't believe it. I'm always so hard on myself. I think my expectations for weight loss were enormous, even though it is normal to only lose 1-2 pounds of weight per week. I'm glad I had a talk with her.Well, I was so excited to get a fill. My doctor gave me a .75 cc fill. What great restriction, but...the next day...!!! I decided to take my chewable vitamins and they got stuck and I got really swollen. It was the worst experience I have had with the band. I couldn't even swallow my own spit. I went Thursday and got a .4 cc unfill and I felt better immediately. I'm so glad I got an unfill. Since I got the fill I went down to 177.3 lbs. I still have really good restriction, I just have to work hard to get my water in.
